“Vim and Vigor”

People often say we need to learn from history. People also say that “history repeats itself.” As of late, there are certain forces in our culture that want to cancel our country’s history and reinvent it to be what they think it ought to be. I like history – especially first hand history from the first and second centuries in the days of the early church. Those people suffered for the cause of Christ. Many, if not most of the writers of the New Testament died early deaths because of their faith in Jesus Christ. Yet,  when you read the New Testament, there is hardly a mention of the fact that they suffered at the hands of the enemies of God. Peter and Paul and the others were all about how to live Godly lives in ungodly times. Their writings are very relevant to the times we live in today.

Prayer Guide – February 2021

But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, (1Peter 3:15). We are to never condemn as we witness but quietly state our faith. We pray to be a people wh0 is always ready to share Christ. Please pray with Daniel for unity for our country.

Sometimes it’s the little things that make you happy.

It’s been a fun week. Our son’s birthday was Sunday and we had a nice Facetime chat with him that evening. We asked him what he got for his birthday and it was the usual T-shirts and such.  We asked him what his wife got him and he said “a giant Lego set.” Turns out she gave him a Lego car to construct, and when it is done, it will occupy about ¼ of their kitchen table. He was working away on that while we talked and it took me back to when he was a little boy when he just loved putting together his Lego toys. Now as a big kid, all grown up, he still likes his Legos. You can’t take the boy out of the man.

“Apple Pie And Liver”

Whenever someone comes to me for counsel, we meet and discuss the situation and talk about whatever their struggle is. As you know, I am a firm believer in the Bible – and I follow its teachings to their logical end all the way down to how it applies to the very soul of man – and apply them to every aspect of our lives. That is not always the easiest thing to do, especially when we have our own ideas on how to handle life, thinking we know more than God knows.

The Harvest – January 2021

Do you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? Have you accepted Him as your Savior? The colored
beads we use attached to our walking sticks, tell the wonderful story of God’s love for us…
-The Gold Bead – “The Street of heaven was pure gold, as it were transparent glass”. Rev. 21:21. We all
want to spend eternity there. John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten
Son.” -The Dark Bead – represents sin. Sin separates us from God. Romans 3:23 – “For all have sinned,
and come short of the glory of God.”
-The Red Color – represents the blood of Christ

“Amen”

It’s been a topsy turvy several weeks. This election has left many scratching their heads and some with a giant knot in their gut because it appears an injustice has occurred.  Maybe so.  Many of us are frustrated and disgusted by the inconsistencies that took place on November 3rd and the media’s lack of interest in investigating and reporting it. On the other hand, some people are thrilled by the outcome.

I’d be lying if I said I was not disappointed. So where do we go from here? Well, first and foremost, we go to the Scriptures. That’s where we always go. The Scriptures are our manual for life. Psalm 118:8: “It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.”

“Out Of Whack”

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions.  A New Year’s resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other. As Christians, we don’t live by resolutions, we live in the strength and power of the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit. We depend on Him one day at a time. We live by being obedient to God’s Word.

2021 – the time is now.
