Dennis Schlagel and I drove to Fisher, Illinois to Jack Murray’s farm to pick up the 317 pairs of shoes that he collected for FCFI. Watch the video here –> Fisher, IL Shoes to see how you can start a shoe drive near you!

The Harvest – September, 2019

The Pastor’s Piece – September 8, 2019
A couple of years ago I took my family to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field in Chicago. Chicago is a big city. The population density of Chicago is 11,933 people per square mile. There are 4,524,709 vehicles registered in the state of Illinois. By contrast, the population density of Lafayette County, Wisconsin, where I live, is 26 people per square mile. There are 2,130,000 vehicles registered in the state of Wisconsin. One could say one encounters a vast difference when driving from my home in Wisconsin to Chicago, Illinois. However, traffic has never bothered me. But that’s not saying I have never bothered traffic. I’m finding the older I get, the more I get honked at. I now consider it a successful trip to town and back if I don’t get honked at.
