Herb Graybill — Agricultural Leader, Speaker, and Ministry Visionary

We are thrilled to feature Herb Graybill, Executive Director of AgConnect Ministries, as a leader whose work bridges practical agriculture and faith-based ministry. With decades of hands-on farming experience, international consulting, and ministry involvement, Herb inspires audiences to see agriculture not just as a vocation, but as a platform for transformation and Kingdom work.

A Lifetime in Agriculture and Ministry

Herb’s journey began on a family dairy farm in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, which he owned and operated from 1982 until 1999. Even after leaving dairy farming, he continued in hay and grain production until 2008, before becoming a consultant for a dairy, agronomic, and equine consulting company. This role allowed him to combine his love for agriculture with his passion for working directly with people—a combination that would define his ministry approach.

International opportunities soon expanded Herb’s impact. He participated in the FARMER TO FARMER USAID program in Kazakhstan in 2002 and 2004, consulting and problem-solving with local farmers. A church connection then led him to Moldova in 2005, where a small delegation of U.S. farmers helped establish the foundation of Agri-Service Moldova. Over the years, this ministry evolved into AgConnect Ministries, now serving farmers in Moldova and Kenya through education, consulting, and sustainable agricultural projects.

Ministry Heart and Global Impact

Herb’s work in Moldova includes managing a headquarters and three large greenhouses, training local farmers in greenhouse management, and supporting small-scale agricultural development despite challenges posed by the regional political and economic climate. In Kenya, Herb partners with local organizations to train pastors and church leaders in soil health, animal nutrition, and holistic farming techniques. Future initiatives include goat dairy research, introducing Sun Hemp for managed grazing, small-scale corn processing facilities, and nutrition and health training.

Through all these projects, Herb emphasizes that lasting change does not come solely from outside resources but through God working within individuals’ own hearts and choices.

A Speaker Who Connects Faith and Farming

Herb’s speaking engagements resonate with both agricultural and non-agricultural audiences. He shares practical wisdom for rural life while highlighting the spiritual dimensions of work and stewardship. His messages often explore:

Recent and upcoming engagements include church agricultural seminars, rural ministry conferences, community outreach events, and missions training gatherings. Herb’s presentations challenge audiences to view their work as part of God’s greater narrative—encompassing responsibility, relationships, and purpose.

Personal Life and Values

Herb is married to Elaine, who serves as his organizational director, helping manage the many moving parts of his work. Together, they have three married daughters and five grandchildren. The family attends Wakefield Vineyard Church in rural Pennsylvania, part of the Vineyard network of churches.

Herb’s life and ministry exemplify the integration of faith, practical experience, and a heart for service. Whether in Lancaster County, Moldova, Kenya, or on the mission field, he continues to equip farmers, church leaders, and communities to embrace God’s calling in agriculture and everyday life.
