The Pennsylvania Northern Tier Chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) recently wrapped up its ministry at the 2024 Troy Fair, held from July 22 through July 27 at Alparon Park in Troy, PA. Under the leadership of Michael and Karen Steele, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, the chapter put in approximately 265 hours of service, resulting in profound spiritual encounters and lasting impacts on the community.
Miracles and Ministry: Lives Transformed
The event was marked by remarkable moments, including 43 individuals who prayed to receive Jesus into their hearts and lives. Each encounter, whether brief or prolonged, reflected the power of God working through the ministry team.
One of the standout experiences involved a 14-year-old boy who was captivated by the five-colored banners displayed inside the FCFI tent. Unfamiliar with the message of Jesus, he was guided by a volunteer who shared the Gospel with him. Though initially hesitant, the boy left with a walking stick and a “Wow!” paper, planting seeds of faith.
Another touching story was of a former fair worker who, after surviving cancer and losing her husband, found comfort in a heartfelt conversation with an FCFI volunteer. The volunteer’s willingness to listen deeply impacted her, providing much-needed solace during a difficult time.
Community Connections and Divine Appointments
The fair also facilitated connections with various individuals, including Paul “Pappy” Yoachim, a regular at the Gathering of the Orange, who encouraged FCFI to consider participating in the event next year. This introduction could open new doors for FCFI to expand its outreach.
There were also numerous spontaneous and heartwarming interactions, such as with a carnival worker who eagerly sought out the FCFI tent after seeing others with walking sticks, and a young man who shared his near-death experience, feeling peace and love that led him to faith.
A Time for Gratitude and Prayer
Reflecting on the event, the FCFI team expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve and the lives touched. They also called for continued prayers for the 43 new believers, asking for guidance in finding Bible-believing churches and growing in their relationship with God.
The Troy Fair was not just an outreach event but a testament to the transformative power of faith and fellowship. The FCFI team looks forward to continuing their mission, spreading the Gospel, and building connections that lead to lasting change.
