Thousands of Walking Sticks Prepared for the Harvest – by Bill Brown

Every walking stick prepared is more than just a tool—it represents an opportunity to share the hope of the Gospel.

From July 7–9, volunteers gathered once again for FCFI’s annual Stick Days, where an incredible 21,000 Wordless Walking Sticks were prepared for upcoming ministry events. Along with the walking sticks, volunteers also assembled numerous bracelets and other evangelism resources that will help share the message of Christ across North America and beyond.

The three-day event was filled with energy, teamwork, and thankful hearts. God blessed the effort with beautiful weather and an amazing group of volunteers who faithfully gave their time and talents. Between 50 and 60 volunteers served each day, traveling from Ohio, Indiana, Vermont, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ontario (Canada), and throughout New York to be part of this important ministry.

A special thank you goes to Pilgrim Holiness Church in Marcy, New York, for once again graciously opening its doors and hosting the event. Their hospitality has been a tremendous blessing to everyone involved.

FCFI is also deeply grateful to the many families who provided lodging for volunteers who traveled long distances. Their generosity made it possible for so many to participate. Kathy Brown extends her heartfelt appreciation to all the ladies who prepared meals and faithfully served in the kitchen throughout the event, ensuring everyone was well cared for.

Additional thanks go to Humphrey’s Farm in New Hampshire for storing and delivering the walking sticks to Marcy, and to the D’Armond family for providing the loader tractor needed to unload them. These behind-the-scenes acts of service played an essential role in making the event a success.

While it would be impossible to recognize every individual by name, one thing is certain: every volunteer mattered. Whether preparing sticks, serving meals, providing transportation, offering lodging, or helping in countless other ways, each person contributed to advancing God’s Kingdom.

As these 21,000 walking sticks are distributed at fairs, farm shows, community events, and mission outreaches in the months ahead, they will become simple yet powerful tools for sharing the Gospel with people of all ages.
