Texas FFA Convention: A Spiritual Breakthrough Amidst Challenges
The Texas State FFA Convention was a spiritually impactful event, despite significant challenges leading up to it. Area Leader, Jeff Goss, experienced intense spiritual warfare, including a hurricane that resulted in a canceled flight just before the convention. Despite fully booked flights, a last-minute seat miraculously opened up, allowing Jeff to arrive in Houston on time. This unexpected blessing reaffirmed the belief that God had a special purpose for this gathering.
As the convention began, another miracle occurred—the restoration of power to the convention center, allowing the event to proceed without interruption. This set the stage for a powerful experience, where numerous FFA members heard the Word of God and prayed with the ministry team.
A key figure in the outreach was Art Free, a former Texas Ag teacher, whose deep connection with the FFA community allowed him to resonate strongly with the students. His passion for ministering to these young people was evident as he shared the Gospel and provided spiritual guidance.
One notable encounter involved a young man who was inspired by Jeff’s testimony of hearing the Gospel for the first time at a football camp. This young man, who has a ministry in football camps, was encouraged to continue his work. Another FFA girl from Houston, struggling to find a church, was connected with a local congregation near the convention center, providing her with much-needed spiritual support.
The convention also saw a young man, initially working at a nearby booth, drawn to the ministry’s message. After hours of listening to the team preach, he approached to learn more about God and the work of FCFI. These encounters are a testament to how God used the convention to stir a hunger for His Word among the youth and to empower them to become witnesses for Christ in their own communities.
The Texas State FFA Convention was more than just an event; it was a significant moment of spiritual awakening for many attendees. The FCFI team is deeply grateful for the continued support and prayers from their community, which have helped make a lasting impact in the lives of these young people. Together, they are equipping the next generation to carry forth God’s message of love and grace.
