More Than a Booth—A Place of Prayer, Hope, and Encounter
This year’s Swamp Cabbage Festival became far more than a community gathering—it became a place of divine appointments, heartfelt prayer, and life-changing encounters.
From the very beginning, it was clear that God was at work. Volunteers came and went throughout the day, yet every time one person stepped away, another arrived right on time. Some who came simply to help assemble walking sticks soon found themselves doing something even greater—praying with individuals for salvation and ministering to those in need.

From the first moments of the Swamp Cabbage Festival, God was already at work—conversations unfolding, walking sticks being prepared, and hearts being drawn to the tent right on time
Over the course of the festival, we had the incredible privilege of praying with more than 100 people to receive Christ. In addition, over 60 individuals came seeking prayer for personal needs, including family struggles, health concerns, grief over the loss of loved ones, and many other burdens close to their hearts. Each conversation was a reminder that people are hungry for genuine, heartfelt prayer—and God faithfully led them to our tent.
More than 1,300 walking sticks were given away, serving not only as a practical gift but also as a symbol of encouragement and support for the journey of faith.

What began as helping hands quickly became ministry in motion, with prayer happening throughout the day as people shared burdens, hopes, and needs close to their hearts
One of the most touching moments came when members of local law enforcement stopped by—not just to observe, but to ask for prayer. They shared requests for family health, safety on duty, and even for the safe arrival of a first child. It was a beautiful testimony of unity and trust within the community. Young explorers, those considering careers in law enforcement, were also present and encouraged by what they witnessed as God moved so powerfully throughout the day.
We are especially grateful to Life Ministries for providing volunteers and children’s handouts, and to Gulf Coast Baptist Church along with Pastor Bob and his family for coming out to serve faithfully. Their partnership truly reflected the saying, “Many hands make light work.” At times, conversations and prayers were happening simultaneously on all three open sides of the tent because so many people were coming.

One of the most powerful moments came as members of local law enforcement and community members stood together for prayer—lifting up family, safety, and future hopes, united in faith and trust
The Swamp Cabbage Festival reminded us once again that when God’s people show up willing to serve, He does the rest. Hearts were touched, prayers were lifted, and lives were changed.
Thank you, Jesus, for showing up in such a powerful way!
