Jeff Goss and Art Free
The stars at night are big and bright… deep in the heart of Texas—and so is the work God is doing here at the FFA State Convention in Fort Worth!
We had the privilege of catching up with Art Free—a faithful man of God, former ag teacher, veteran, FFA leader, and now pastor—who shared how this year’s convention has opened new doors for ministry among FFA students and ag educators across the state.
Art and his wife have been faithfully serving at the booth, connecting with students who need to hear the Word of God or simply need encouragement in their faith. “Man, these kids just fire me up and bless me,” Art shared. “Some need to hear the gospel for the first time; others just need their faith strengthened.”
One of the most exciting developments has been the growing number of ag teachers and students inviting Art and his wife to visit their FFA chapters during the upcoming school year to share the gospel. “We’re going to be busy,” Art said with a smile, “going out and presenting Jesus to all these fine FFA members.”
Beyond the invitations, God has been moving powerfully on the convention floor itself. Many students have come up to thank Art for being there, offering hugs and even asking if they could pray for him. In turn, Art and his wife have prayed for countless students—and witnessed several give their hearts to Christ during the event.
“It just encourages me so much to see these young men and women hungry for God,” Art shared. “We’re taking it to another level now with these new doors opening into schools.”
As Art reminded us, your prayers and support play a vital part in this mission. Let’s keep praying for Texas, for the Fellowship of Christian Farmers team, and for every student and teacher whose life may be transformed through these visits.
