Serving the Lord Through FCFI – by Ed and Gail Westfall

For Ed and Gail Westfall, serving with Fellowship of Christian Farmers International (FCFI) has been a journey shaped by prayer, opportunity, and a shared desire to serve the Lord.

Gail’s Journey in Ministry

Gail shares that God gradually led her into the ministry. She had known Kathy long before she became Bill’s wife, and becoming part of FCFI was an answer to much prayer. It also provided an opportunity for Ed and her to serve the Lord together. As the years go by, they continue looking for ways to serve wherever God leads them within FCFI.

One reason Gail supports FCFI is its commitment to an unchanging message: the truth of the Gospel and the Word of God. She appreciates that those serving with FCFI lovingly share the bead story with the people they meet. Knowing that the message remains unchanged and centered on God’s Word is a joy to her heart.

Ed’s Journey into FCFI

Ed’s journey into FCFI also grew out of his background and experiences in agriculture. His early years included Sunday School, church, Vacation Bible School, Junior Grange, 4-H with Jerseys, and working as a teenager on a dairy farm. As an adult, he worked with agricultural computer customers through the Dairy Records Processing Center at Cornell and SUNY Morrisville.

A turning point came when Ed learned that farms in the county where he grew up had experienced severe flooding and that FCFI was preparing to help with recovery efforts. Although he initially offered an alternative to making the trip, that option was not accepted, so he decided to go.

The work was challenging, but with his wife assisting, he found great reward in working alongside different teams to help farmers and their neighbors.

That experience became the beginning of many years of involvement with FCFI. Since then, opportunities to serve have continued to develop naturally.
