A Look Back at God’s Faithfulness in Jamaica: As FCFI prepares to return to Jamaica, we invite you to watch highlights from our previous mission trip and see how God worked through the hands and hearts of volunteers serving alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ.

This November, Fellowship of Christian Farmers, International (FCFI) will return to Jamaica with a mission that extends far beyond construction projects or agricultural training. From November 14–22, an FCFI team will partner with local believers to strengthen communities through practical service, biblical discipleship, and relationships that have the potential to impact generations.

The trip reflects FCFI’s conviction that the Gospel is most powerfully demonstrated when Christians love their neighbors in tangible ways while pointing them to the transforming hope found in Jesus Christ. Every hammer swung, every seedling planted, and every conversation shared is intended to open doors for lasting discipleship and biblical worldview training.

Strengthening a Bible College to Strengthen the Church

One focus of the trip will be assisting Fairview Bible College, which sustained significant damage during Hurricane Melissa. The college has long served as an important center for preparing pastors, evangelists, and Christian leaders for ministry throughout Jamaica.

By helping repair damaged facilities, FCFI volunteers are investing in far more than buildings. They are helping restore a place where future church leaders will be equipped to faithfully proclaim God’s Word, disciple believers, and strengthen local congregations for years to come.

For those with construction skills, this provides an opportunity to use their abilities in direct Kingdom service. Every repaired classroom, restored roof, and strengthened building contributes to the college’s ability to continue training men and women who will multiply the Gospel across Jamaica and beyond.

Every Volunteer Has a Place

Not everyone on the team will spend the week carrying lumber or using power tools. One of the strengths of this mission is that people with many different gifts can make a meaningful contribution.

A second group of volunteers will work alongside vulnerable families—particularly widows—to establish small tree nurseries that can become sustainable sources of income.

Rather than simply providing temporary assistance, the goal is to help families develop productive assets that continue generating value long after the mission team has returned home. Fruit trees, timber species, ornamentals, and other locally appropriate nursery stock can provide ongoing economic opportunities while also benefiting surrounding communities.

This reflects an important biblical principle. Throughout Scripture, God calls His people not merely to give handouts but to equip others to become faithful stewards of the resources He has entrusted to them.

From Relief to Restoration

While hurricane recovery remains an important need, FCFI’s vision reaches beyond disaster response.

Relief addresses today’s crisis.

Restoration helps families rebuild tomorrow.

Transformation occurs when lives are changed by the Gospel and people learn to steward God’s gifts with wisdom, diligence, and hope.

By combining practical assistance with biblical teaching, FCFI seeks to encourage communities to discover opportunities already present around them. God has placed resources, abilities, relationships, and creativity within every community. When these are developed through biblical principles, they can become instruments for blessing families, churches, and entire regions.

Building Relationships That Last

One of the most important aspects of any FCFI mission is something that cannot be measured in square feet repaired or trees planted.

Relationships.

Working side-by-side creates opportunities for conversations that seldom happen in formal settings. As volunteers labor together, friendships naturally develop. These relationships become opportunities to share testimonies, encourage believers, answer questions, pray together, and disciple one another.

The goal is not simply completing projects but investing in people.

Jesus consistently ministered through relationships. He taught while walking roads, sharing meals, meeting practical needs, and spending time with people. FCFI seeks to follow that same model by allowing acts of service to become opportunities for Gospel conversations and spiritual growth.

A Biblical Worldview for Everyday Life

FCFI believes discipleship extends far beyond Sunday worship.

A biblical worldview shapes how people manage farms, operate businesses, care for families, lead churches, solve problems, and steward the resources God has entrusted to them.

As relationships develop, team members will have opportunities to encourage believers in biblical stewardship, servant leadership, entrepreneurship, work as worship, financial responsibility, and faithfully using the talents and resources God has provided.

The objective is not dependence upon outside organizations but the development of confident Christian leaders who can train others.

This multiplication model reflects Paul’s instruction in 2 Timothy 2:2:

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”

Investing in Human Flourishing

Healthy churches help build healthy communities.

Healthy families strengthen churches.

Productive farms and businesses provide opportunities for generosity, ministry, and stability.

When these work together under the Lordship of Christ, communities flourish.

Whether rebuilding a Bible college, helping establish tree nurseries, encouraging widows, or sharing the hope of the Gospel, every activity points toward the same purpose: helping people become faithful disciples of Jesus Christ who bless others through wise stewardship of the resources God has entrusted to them.
