Raising Up the Next Generation of Soul-Winners at the National Farm Machinery Show

Greg leads by example, training the next generation to share the Gospel through hands-on tag-team discipleship

At the event of National Farm Machinery Show, Greg highlights the practical discipleship method called “Tag-Team Witnessing” was he uses to equip young believers to share the Gospel with confidence. The approach pairs a seasoned witness with a young person or anyone with little experience (usually very nervous or timid at first) who is just beginning to learn how to evangelize.

The process begins with the mentor initiating a conversation and introducing the Gospel message. Then, he turns to the young believer, or inexperienced budding evangelist, and invites him to explain the message of salvation using the walking stick and the five Gospel colors. As the young person explains the meaning behind each color — gold, black (usually say dark or stained), red, white, and green — the mentor remains by his side, stepping in only when needed to clarify a point or give a visual illustration. Over the course of a number of times, gaining familiarity with each presentation the fear leaves and is replaced by confidence and backed by experience.

This method not only communicates the Gospel clearly to those listening but also trains those who are inexperienced through active participation rather than observation alone. Imagine how loss of opportunity for those who go through their whole live without gaining confidence to share the gospel.

During the event, a typical tag-team approach allowed a 16-year-old young man to personally share the Gospel with six individuals (the size of a normal circle to whom we share) using this tag-team approach. In subsequent times of sharing with guidance and encouragement, he grew in confidence and boldness, stepping into his role as a witness for Christ.

This “Tag-Team Fellowship of Learning” continues to be a powerful tool — not only for reaching people with the Good News but also for raising up the next generation of soul-winners equipped to lead others to the Lord.
