Prayer Guide and Devotional – September 8, 2024
1 Peter 1:16
for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
What is the first thing people, who have known me all my life, say after I tell them I have received Jesus into my heart and life? YOU??? No way Jose!! They remember the old me. The me from growing up, the me from high school, the me from work. And they say there is no way I can be one of those Holy Rollers or that I could lead a Christian person’s life. It took the power of God to make it happen! It took the death and resurrection of God’s son, Jesus Christ. Only a God so big and so strong that He could create the entire world could turn my entire life around. He tells me I am to be Holy just as He is Holy! But, He does not then turn and walk away. He helps makes the entire process happen. He cleans me up and He guides my path. He gives me wisdom on how to handle situations in life and the strength to go through it. But, it all starts and continues, day after day, with Jesus Christ as my Savior and my best friend. You too can come to Jesus today. That is where this amazing transformation starts, coming to Jesus and becoming one with God. And since Jesus and I are one, I AM Holy ….. because He is Holy!! Now, I can really be one with God. Lord, I cannot be holy on my own. Please, help me to be Holy as You are Holy. With Your help, Lord, I can behave and speak as You desire me to do and I can touch lives around me with Your Holy Spirit that resides within me! Prayer Requests! Pray for all the children back in school that the Lord will protect them from all evil and give them an environment that encourages them to learn according to the Lord’s desires!
