2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
So much in the United States is built on the idea we must be bigger and stronger. We want our cars bigger and stronger, our trucks bigger and stronger, our phones bigger and stronger, and our TV’s bigger and stronger. We also take that same idea to ourselves. We feel we must be a bigger and stronger person to gain anything in this world. Sports stars are always trying to get bigger and stronger and the gyms are loaded with the everyday person trying to get stronger. The Lord reminded Paul the Lord’s strength is magnified when we look at our weaknesses. The Lord has NO weaknesses but we do. So when we look at ourselves we see an entire world of weak humans. The Lord is telling us when we lean fully on the Lord we do not need to worry about any of our weaknesses that we will never fix. The Lord is mighty and is there to take care of us. Paul came to this realization. He decided he would gladly show the world he has weaknesses and the Lord does not. “Lean on the Lord and not your own abilities” Paul is crying out!! Are you trying to get stronger to eliminate your dependence on Jesus?? Lord, my habits are to focus on areas I am weak at. Help me to look past my weaknesses and realize you are my entire life!! I want to lean on and be one with You Lord so I must realize your strengths are there as You take care of me. Prayer Requests!
