Prayer Guide and Devotional – September 28, 2024

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

We all are so fortunate that Jesus was a better human than we are. When we do not want to do something, no matter how easy it may be, we can always find an excuse not to do it. What if Jesus would have done that when faced with torture and death on the cross? After all, Jesus was suffering a criminals death. Jesus, who was sinless and absolutely perfect in every sense of the word, could have refused and found some sort of excuse. But He did not take that route. He went to the cross and became the sin of the world. Just think of that heavy burden. The sin OF THE WORLD!! Jesus knew, without this one deed, this one selfless act of love, God’s creation would spend an eternity in hell away from all God’s original plans of us being with Him in heaven. God needed Jesus to achieve something we can never ever do for ourselves. And that is being righteous enough to stand before God. Due to our sin we are all destined to spend eternity away from God’s love. God knows this. So, God had Jesus be that stand in for us and take our punishment. If Jesus ran like us humans do from responsibility, we would never be with God in heaven. God made Jesus, totally sinless and perfect in every sense, to be OUR SIN on that cross. Jesus did it for God and for us. That was the only way the creation God loved and made in His own image can someday stand before Him and with Him!! It is only through Jesus we can be righteous enough to be with God.
Lord, I know Jesus is my only hope of salvation!! I know You had Him go to the cross to clean the dirt from me that I could not clean and that would keep me eternally separated from You. Thank you Jesus for accepting such a tremendous responsibility for me!! I love You Lord!!
