Prayer Guide and Devotional – September 27, 2024
Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
| When we come to Jesus and ask Him into our hearts and lives and receive His forgiveness for our sins, we are receiving the Holy Spirit, the personal Spirit of God, into our hearts and lives. But the Lord does not want things to end right there. That is one of the main reasons we go to church! There is a lot more work to be done. And this is work all farmers understand. It is now your “growing season!!” Look at those wonderful things the Spirit of the Lord is offering us – Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. There is not a law anywhere against such fine things. But, just like a farmer plants his seed and watches as it grows, we are told these are things we must grow. Notice, it is not a free gift (something just handed over to us) but something planted by the Holy Spirit within our hearts that we must fertilize and cultivate through prayer with God, worship of God, and learning about God. Are any of these fruits not showing in your life? Are you cultivating your spiritual ground and are you watering and feeding them? If these are growing in your life you are not just a farmer, but you are now a “Christian Farmer!!!” Lord, I know with Jesus I have forgiveness of my sins. But, You did not stop there but you have blessed me with various fruits I can grow within myself that will not just benefit me but will also benefit those around me!!
