Luke 5:32
I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”
| Aha! So there are righteous people in the world!! Well, not really. A man my wife and I love very much, him and his wife we have always called Mom and Dad. He was a very solid Christian. He said it was impossible reaching his daughter with the salvation message of Lord Jesus. She did not believe she was a sinner. Her idea of sin was robbing banks and murder. You could do everything else and not be a sinner. She maintained a form of self-righteousness. Jesus knew there are these type of people in the world. They believe they have done nothing to repent of (turn away from sin) . As one Pastor stated years ago, Christians and Hell’s Angels have one thing in common. You must admit you are a sinner to join each of them. If you feel you have done nothing wrong to repent of, you will feel no need for Jesus. Though Jesus died for the righteous as well as the sinners, He also knew He would be rejected by many of them. He knew there would be those people too hard of heart to reach and so He focused on those that understood that their sins make them too dirty to be with God in heaven. Lord, I know I am a sinner and that you have washed me clean from my filthy sins on the cross! Thank you Jesus for saving me. Help me to never look past or get over what you did for me on that cross!! Prayer Requests!
