John 15:16b
that whatever you ask the Father in My name
He may give you.
In the evenings after supper I used to go to the kitchen and wash the dishes. I would start the dishes and my son would come in. He was maybe 8 years old or so. Almost every evening he enjoyed a glass of cold milk. Right above the sink were the glasses. He would stand there a minute or two silently, I knew what he wanted. He could not reach the glasses! Once he asked, I would get a glass down for him. I wanted my son to learn to ask. Jesus loves talking to us and that includes when we ask. And Jesus wants to bless us. But, He wants us to come to Him and ask. We should not just assume what we want and wait for it. Come to Jesus and ask. Jesus tells us, whatever we ask in God’s name, Jesus may give us. By the way, do you see that “MAY” give us? We are not to treat Jesus like, as many do, Santa Claus and have “Christmas every day!”, asking what we want with a big list. The Lord will listen to us and He will do what is best for us. He will equip us for ministry. He will provide for us all that is needed regarding food and clothing and a home. He even provides us with some of our wants. But there will not be any bratty kids in the kingdom of heaven with big lists expecting to receive big things and not asking for what He knows is best. Come to Jesus. Talk to Jesus. He is listening and waiting for you. Isn’t it awesome knowing the Son of God is there for us whenever we want to talk!! Lord, I love You so much! I want to be best friends with You. I thank You for all the blessings You provide for me. Help my desires to always be focused on serving You and getting closer to You. Help me to use those blessings You provide me to bless others and to reach others with Your salvation message. I appreciate the gift but I love the Giver (You) even more!! Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Please pray for Phil. He continues to have one medical problem after another. Please pray for his wife and caregiver, Debbie.
