Prayer Guide and Devotional – October 20, 2025
1 Samuel 15:22
“Has the Lord as great delight in
burnt offerings and sacrifices,
As in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
And to heed than the fat of rams.
| Throughout the Old Testament of the Bible sacrifices were continually made to the Lord. These sacrifices were made to please God. They would sacrifice an animal whenever they sinned. It was supposed to be a way of gaining forgiveness of their sins. The killing of an animal is not a pleasant thing. It was a way to remind us we should all be greatly disturbed by sin. The Lord speaks to us all through Samuel and tells us the Lord takes no delight (not happy with) sacrifice. He strongly wants us all to be obedient to Him. The sacrifice of an animal will never clean us of the dirt of our sins. If we would obey His commandments and His directives for our lives, there would be no need for any sacrifices. He tells us all to “Obey the voice of the Lord!” We are all to live our lives according to what Jesus tells us in the Bible. Live a life of love and forgiveness and helping others. The only sacrifice that ever has pleased the Lord was Jesus death on the cross for our sins. And that sacrifice only occurred because of Jesus …..Obedience to the Lord!! Lord, give me your strength and wisdom to be obedient to You. I want to live life according to what you desire and say to please You and be a blessing to other people. Place Your desires for me within my heart, my soul, my spirit, and my mind to be the best child of God that I can be!! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Pray that witnesses will be plentiful to help share the wonderful salvation message of Jesus Christ with the FFA students and parents that attend the events.
