Luke 24:25
Then He said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken
Okay, okay, here is the scene. Two dudes are walking the road to Emmaus. Jesus, after his short life of powerful teaching and performing amazing miracles, had been hung on the cross and killed. These two were believers but were struggling. They were thinking this must be the Christ. But, He is gone!! Just think how this would rock someone to the core of their heart and soul. All of a sudden someone approaches them and walks with them. The stranger asks them what ails them. How could this stranger not know about the death of who many thought to be the Savior? The two spoke of the empty tomb and that there were rumors that Jesus was alive. Jesus had been walking with them and told them several times He must die according to the scriptures. And as the scriptures stated He would rise from the dead three days later. They had the evidence. They had the writings of various prophets speaking the Word of God to them. They received these writings as directly from God but here they were doubting and not believing God’s writings. We have a lot of that today. We have the writings of the prophets. We have the writings of all of Jesus powerful words and amazing miracles. We have the evidence of changed lives of those that have received Jesus into their hearts. And yet so many today still refuse to believe Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins. They refuse to believe in His redeeming blood. We can be just like the Emmaus dudes – “O foolish ones!” Lord, I see the evidence of Lord Jesus all around me. I see an amazing earth with so much wonderful creation that only a God of Your magnitude could create. I see Jesus touching and changing lives, not just around me but around the globe. Please, help my eyes be completely open to all that You are and give me the ability to share You with the world!! I love You Lord Jesus!!! Prayer Requests! Please pray for Rita. She needs wisdom with her finances…add all of us who are struggling with this issue in these days. Please remember Sheila as she is in the hospital with a serious wound.
