2 Samuel 6:14-15
Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.
Back during Old Testament times the Israelites had the Ark of the Covenant as a sign between God and the Israelites. This Ark was their reminder of God with them and the special relationship the Israelite’s had with God. Wherever the Ark went, that home or that city the Lord prospered. So King David decided it was time to bring the Ark back to the City of David (Jerusalem). A first attempt was made. But the process was against the Lord and a man (Uzzah) was killed by God for touching the cart that carried the Ark. David knew he had to move the Ark according to the Lord’s ways. David knew to move the Ark involved praising and worshiping the Lord. So, David danced before the Ark of God all the way into Jerusalem in front of the Ark of God. King David danced in praise and worship of God. Even though he was King, David did not feel such a thing was beneath him. He took off his kingly garments and danced through the city in just a linen ephod. We can all learn from this that praise and worship of God through dance is a great way to thank the Lord for all His blessings. Go ahead and turn on a great worship song and dance around your house worshiping the Lord! You will feel closer to the Lord! Lord, I love You. I really, really, really love You! Help me to take what the world often does in recreation and dance in worship to my mighty and loving God. You are the reason I exist and You are the reason I live my life. I worship and adore You. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Please pray that God would work in mighty ways in our new administration and that the Lord would be glorified.
