Prayer Guide and Devotional – November 23, 2024
Hebrews 12:1
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,
| We all are reminded of a great collection of witnesses for God that have walked in our shoes. Yes. they once walked this earth and were not only tempted by sin but fell into sin. They lived lives offensive to God. Yet, with their eyes on the Lord in the midst of their dying and deceptive world, they came out of their lives of sin and worked hard to please God. This great cloud of witnesses are a testimony to all of us that we, too, can throw off our life of sin that so easily tangles and traps us and walk and live our lives according to the Lord’s principles. We all are to “run the race” that is our lives as the Lord has marked out for each of us. Those witnesses each had hard times and fell into sin. Yet, each of those witnesses, with a strong faith in God, decided to throw off their sinful lives and turned to a life of trusting and pleasing God. Yes, life can be very difficult. When we receive Jesus into our hearts and lives there is not any promise that our lives will be easy from that point on. We also have times of difficulty that we must get through. But the Lord is with each and every one of us and is there to guide and help us. All we have to do is have faith in our Heavenly Father and call out to Him. We all have the power with us to live lives pleasing to God. Trust God for everything and live your life so you can take your place in that “Cloud of witnesses” for Christ Jesus!! Lord, sometimes life can be so difficult to live according to Your desires. We do not have the ability to easily see the obstacles the world places before us. Please, have Your Holy Spirit be our guide in helping us to live a pleasing life to You!! Help me to keep my total focus on Jesus and live my life according to Your desires and to be a good witness of Lord Jesus and a blessing to all those I meet. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
