Prayer Guide and Devotional – November 15, 2024
2 Corinthians 4:4
In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing clearly the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
| I remember seeing my grandfather sitting in a chair most of his days later in his life. For most of his life he could see plainly and was very active. A mail carrier that walked to work, walked his entire route, and walked home. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. But in his later years he was totally blind and had his white cane at the side of his chair. This makes me think of so many walking this earth that reject Lord Jesus for what He has done for them on the cross where He shed His blood to cleaned them of their sins, like He did for all the world. And not only do many reject Him but they can be aggressive against those that love Lord Jesus and just want to share His glorious news with this world. As the Lord reminds us, these people are living in a state of spiritual “blindness.” Just as my grandfather got to the point he could not see a thing due to his eye disease, these unbelieving people are allowing themselves to be spiritually blinded by the god of this world (Satan.) Satan works overtime to keep many from seeing the truth and the light of God and believing the Gospel of Lord Jesus. Satan does not want them to see that Jesus is the Son of God and our only salvation and when they come to Lord Jesus they are coming to God. Satan is an angel that fell from heaven due to his evil heart and now, to get back at God, he is trying to keep everyone from having what he can never have. Are your eyes open to the light and love of Lord Jesus? Do you need a “Spiritual white cane” or can you see by the light of God and run and jump and enjoy all the blessings the Lord has for you? Lord, the world is in such a horrible spiritual state. I ask You to open the eyes of the hearts of all believers that they can see how much You love them and have the best for them should they come to You. Whatever blocks or hinders these people from coming to Jesus, please remove those walls and open their eyes to the truth. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Pray for those alone and without someone to talk to. They can get very depressed anytime but especially during the holiday season coming upon us.
