James 3:1
My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment.
So often we do things without understanding the repercussions that may come about because of our actions. Years ago I worked in the warehouse. The man I worked with was in his early twenties. One Monday morning he came into work telling how, over the weekend, him and his buddy met a young lady. The two guys proceeded to try to teach this young lady how to use foul language. My co-worker said they did not get her to say much but the boys had a fun time trying. I looked at him and casually told him he had a lot of courage. He asked what I meant by that. I told him how teachers, whether of good or bad, are held to stricter judgement. He stood and just stared. Please, do not be confused. Teachers are not just those in school and college. We all can be teachers at any moment of our lives. We teach our children to dress and eat. We teach others sports, how to drive a car, operate a computer, and even run a vacuum. The Lord reminds us that when we teach good we receive a higher reward. But, when we teach bad, we receive stricter judgement. Teaching is very, very important because our students will keep this information all their lives and it will have a bearing on how they live and act. The Lord is always watching what we do and does not miss it when we instruct others. That is why the Lord reminds us that if we are to become a teacher we are held accountable for what we teach. Due to this, the Lord does not recommend everyone to become teachers.
Lord, I ask You to help me to attain the position in this life that You want me to have. If I personally pick what I am to do it will fail and it may effect others. But, when You place me where You want me and have me doing what You want me to do for You, I know it will greatly succeed. I place all I am in Your hands! You are my God and my Creator and You know what is best for me. Thank You Lord! In Jesus Name, Amen!!
