Philippians 1:23
For I am hard-pressed between the two, having a desire to depart and be with Christ, which is far better.
There was the question on when we die, do we go directly to heaven or not. Paul answered that question for us. He said he was torn between staying alive on earth and continuing in ministry to the Lord or dying and being with Jesus. If he would not have went directly into the presence of the Lord, Paul would have said so. Though Paul had the desire to depart “and be with Christ” he knew it was also important to finish the ministry he was given by the Lord. Sometimes our conditions encourage us to want to be home in heaven with the Lord. But there may be special things here on earth the Lord has for you to accomplish. Paul realized what the Lord was having him do was very important. Paul knew he would have went directly into the presence of the Lord. We can all have comfort and peace in knowing those we love that have been called home by the Lord, are truly at home with the Lord! And, if we remain on this earth, the Lord has something on this earth for us to still attend to. Lord, as humans we have so many questions. The more we get deeper into Your Word, the more we get answers to our questions. I thank You so much for taking those I love and appreciate directly into Your kingdom and honoring them as Your own family. I know that I myself will someday be in Your presence. Until that time Lord, I love You very much!! In Jesus Name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Please pray for commodity prices to stay high enough our farmers can make a living.
