Prayer Guide and Devotional

Jeremiah 1:5

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,

    before you were born I set you apart;

    I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.”

We often see ourselves as achieving new or greater positions in life on our own. We are not realizing, it is the Lord that is making all this happen. Jeremiah was told by the Lord that he was personally chosen by God to act as the Lord’s prophet. The Lord knew Jeremiah, and chose him, from before he was formed in his mother’s womb. The Lord was setting Jeremiah apart to accomplish very special tasks for Him. Before Jeremiah was born the Lord had already made him the Lord’s prophet, or ambassador, to the nations. You are a very special person. You, too, were known by God before you were formed in your mother’s womb. You should never think negatively or harsh about yourself. The Lord still gives each of us our free will to act on our own. When life does not go as we planned, do not blame the Lord. We often make decisions that take us off the path the Lord has set for us. Come to the Lord today and thank Him for making you exactly as you are. Ask the Lord to help you accomplish the tasks He had appointed especially for you. Don’t compare yourself to Jeremiah or anyone else. You are very special in the Lord’s eyes and have a heavenly designed job to do.

Lord, thank You for creating me and forming me for a special purpose. Help me to think of myself as You think of me, as one of Your chosen, formed for a very special purpose. Thank You Lord Jesus for making me exactly as I am, designed for the job You made me for! I love You Lord!! In Jesus Name, Amen!!
