Ephesians 2:8
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
God loves us all and does not want anyone to miss being with Him in heaven. He could have sold seats in heaven. But then only those that could afford it would make heaven. That may not be many people. God could have made it that you must earn your way into heaven. If you thought attendance would be low if you had to pay to get into heaven, wait until you find out how many people would go to heaven if they actually had to earn it! Now remember, God is a loving God. His salvation for all people is absolutely free, it is a gift! That is right. A gift that is given freely by the Lord. That gift happens to come in the form of His Son, Lord Jesus. Jesus died on the cross to pay for our sins. That is the free gift. But wait! Every gift has a giver and every gift must have a receiver. If we do not reach out and receive that gift from God, it is not ours. God tells us that there is nothing we, as individuals or as a group, can do to attain heaven, other than come to Jesus. We must reach out and accept Jesus for what He did for us on the cross. We have been saved by the grace of God (Grace is when we are given something we do not deserve). We do not deserve to go to heaven due to our sins but God gave us absolutely free passage to heaven, God gave us the gift of His Son. Have you received Jesus into your heart and life? Have you received God’s greatest gift??
Lord, I also am one that does not deserve to go to heaven. I have offended You and broken Your laws way too often. But, You loved me so much, You gave me Jesus! Thank You Lord for washing away my sins. The moment I received Jesus into my heart and life is the absolute greatest moment of my life!! In Jesus name, Amen!!
