Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Years ago a friend of mine and myself went fishing. We took his van and his boat and headed to northern Pennsylvania. He stopped and bought his lunch and had me take over the driving. As we proceeded west on Rt49 the road was a constant ribbon up and down. I could not see a thing because the road crested and disappeared. But I kept on driving because I knew, without seeing the road on the other side of the hill, that it would be there as we went over the top. That is what faith is. It is our knowing that something does exist without ever having seen it. I never felt I would drive off a cliff or that the road ended right there. We are to have that same faith in all the Lord is doing or even will do, not only in our lives but in the lives of all people. Just like that road I could not see but I knew it was there, I cannot see God but I know He is there guiding my life and protecting me. We can have full confidence in the Lord’s promises because they are real and a firm foundation for our lives.
Yes, sometimes life can get difficult. But the Lord uses those times to teach us to have faith in Him. Just because you cannot see the Lord does not mean He is not there and not acting on your needs. Have total faith in the Lord in all you do!!
