Prayer Guide and Devotional
Mark 7:8-9
For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men—the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.
There are millions of people in the world. And every single one has their own opinion of anything and everything. It is okay to hear their opinions. It will make a person think. But be very careful when it comes to spiritual ideals. So many people cast aside the commandments of God to maintain their own traditions. If you start following these questionable beliefs, you run the risk of straying from the Lord yourself. I heard a pastor say there should always be two or three witnesses and he said this pertains to the Bible as well. He said so often you will find two or three verses confirming each other. So, if someone is telling you about a belief of theirs, check the Bible to see if it lines up with the Lord. Do not let yourself get swayed away from right beliefs by someone’s elegant talk. Do not reject the commands of God so that you can maintain someone else’s traditions. Lord, I hear so many people talk and share their interpretation of what they feel is the way You believe and the way You want us to live. Some of these beliefs appear to be born out of their own opinion of how life should be lived and not necessarily based on Your direction. Please help my focus and my heart to remain steadfast to Your Word and Your ways. Do not let my heart and mind go astray into a life directed by man’s ways and traditions. In Jesus Name, Amen!!
