Matthew 5:48
Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
| We are 5 days away from our FCFI chapter being at the Troy Fair in Troy, Pa. So that means it is time to get walking sticks ready. Remember, we are the Wordless Walking Stick Ministry! So I just spent the day checking over all the walking sticks in bundles of 40 sticks. I look over each stick to make sure it is perfect. I do not want anyone getting a splinter from it or even just saying it does not look nice. We represent Jesus Christ and so my sticks must be perfect. Did you know we are told by the Lord in the Bible that we are to be perfect? Most of you know who is writing this and you are thinking “That’s a hoot! We are to be perfect as the Lord. Impossible” But, yes, we are to be perfect. God says it and so it is true. Can we be perfect? Yes! How, since we are a sinful people? When Jesus died on the cross He took all of our sins with Him to that cross. When we receive Jesus into our hearts we are now one with Jesus and our sins are gone.Washed away by Jesus’ blood! We can go to heaven because our sins are gone and God does not see them. When a gymnast does a perfect routine the judges may give them a perfect “10” score. When we arrive in heaven there may be some Godly people holding up those two cards – 10 – for you! Jesus washed our sins away on that old rugged cross. But let’s all still try to do our own part to be perfect for the Lord by being the best people we can be. The best husband or wife, the best brother or sister, the best son or daughter.
