Prayer Guide and Devotional
Matthew 8:23-25
Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”
When we joined God’s family, when we asked Jesus into our hearts, we all did a very marvelous thing. We brought Jesus into our lives. This means we never spend another minute of our lives without Jesus with us. Whether at home, at work, running our errands, doing chores, or out at play, Jesus is right there with us. In Matthew Chapter 8 Jesus was asleep in the boat while His Disciples manned the oars and sails. All of a sudden a storm arises. The Disciples did what they could but were fearful of losing their lives. Finally, they called out to Jesus. Save us!! We are going to drown!! Jesus awoke and spoke words of calm upon the sea. Remember, Jesus is right there with us right now just as He was with the Disciples in that boat. We often wait until we are in trouble or afraid before we come to Jesus or call out to Him. And unlike Jesus with His Disciples, He is never asleep. Jesus is there just waiting for us to call out to Him. The more we trust Jesus to help us handle our personal storms, the smoother and nicer our lives will be!! In need of help, call out to Jesus. He will speak words of calm upon your storms today!!
Lord, thank You for choosing me and calling me into Your family. I am not ever alone since I became part of your family! No matter where I am , there You are with me. No matter how strong the storm, there You are, with me! When I am having a great day, there You are with me! You do not leave me Lord! I put my life in Your hands. Just as You were in the boat with The Disciples, You are in this life with me. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
