Colossians 4:5

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside,

redeeming the time.

This statement is from the Apostle Paul as he traveled from one region to another sharing the Gospel of Lord Jesus Christ. He speaks on the importance of having wisdom. So often, people place a very high regard for having knowledge, with little regard for having wisdom. As the wise old owl above tells us, knowledge is knowing what to say or being book smart. Wisdom is knowing when to say it. Paul speaks of having wisdom on when to speak to “those who are outside”, also known as unbelievers. Wisdom is very important. Not just any old time is a great time to share the Lord with non-Christians. All FCFI witnesses that go out to their various events can tell how not everyone is open to hearing the Gospel of Lord Jesus. Yes, this is the most important message they will ever hear. It is all about spending eternity in heaven verses spending eternity in hell. But, not everyone is open to the message and talking with people and watching how they behave when you start your message helps to determine if it is a good time. Paul also states to “redeem the time” or always be ready to share. Share as often as non-believers are open to listening. Nobody knows if they have another day, so if they are open to the receiving the Gospel of Lord Jesus, by all means share with them!! And have a prayer ready if they are open to receiving Jesus into their hearts and lives. Redeem that time!
Lord, it is so wonderful to be able to share the great news of Lord Jesus salvation message. But not everyone is open to even listening about Jesus. Please, give all of Your children Your Godly wisdom so all of our brothers and sisters in Lord Jesus will know when is best to share. And Lord, give us the boldness to always share when the door is open to do so. Let none of us waste an opportunity to present the Gospel to the unsaved. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
