Isaiah 7:14
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel.
| The Israelites were waiting on God. They prayed for a savior to be sent to them from the Lord. The Lord could have just sent His salvation without any type of prior announcement. The people could have been blind sided by Jesus coming. Who is this? Why is He here? Who sent Him? Is He really from God? But the Lord wanted the people to be ready and watching for His salvation to come. The Lord wanted the people to know, this is who you are waiting for! So, the Lord announced to the people “Here is your sign that this is from Me.” He told the people, watch for a virgin to give birth; a totally impossible happening. And the virgin mother of this child will name Him Immanuel, or “God with us!” This announcement occurred hundreds of years before the actual birth of Jesus occurred. How many times have we set out to go somewhere or do a job only to realize we forgot something needed. God does not do this. He handles every step in the process at the perfect time. Like this announcement to the world. This Christmas Season, remember how the Lord announced the birth of Jesus long before it occurred so there would be no reason to doubt Jesus is the Son of God!! Lord, You always do the right thing and at the very right time. Thank You for letting everyone know ahead of time to be watching because Your salvation was coming to the world. You not only took care of the world today with the coming of Jesus but You told the people back then that what they desired You were going to do! You truly are a loving God. Thank You Lord!
