Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 21, 2024
Matthew 24:34-36
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
For I have come to turn
“‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.’
| The greatest thing us humans have ever had occur for us was Jesus birth, life, death, and resurrection. Jesus came to take away the sins of the entire world. You would think the world would be absolutely ecstatic with this wonderful display of love by the Lord. But you must remember, this is a gift from God. We are not all automatically saved from spending eternity in hell because of Jesus gift. We must each come to Jesus and personally receive Him into our hearts and lives. There are many, many, many people in the world today that still reject Lord Jesus and God. Today there are many families where some members have received Jesus and some members reject Him. Those saved do not want their families and friends to spend eternity in hell so they share the good news of Lord Jesus with the unsaved. Many that are rejecting get very upset with their family members telling them about the Lord. This is where the Lord says He has come to pit one family member against another. Jesus wants all people to come to Him but He knew from the very beginning that those people whose hearts are clouded by the lies and deception of satan tend to become very upset and nasty when confronted with the Gospel of Lord Jesus. Even from a family member. A person’s enemies can become those living in the same house! Lord, the entire world celebrates the birth of Lord Jesus in just a few days. Even though this is the greatest show of Your love, there are still so many people that reject You. First, I pray Lord that You would open their hearts to the truth of Lord Jesus. And Lord, please use Your children to share the salvation message of Lord Jesus in a caring manner. Help us to be strong in the Word and humble in spirit to help win some to Lord Jesus. I know You can break down the barrier erected by satan that stands between Lord Jesus and these people. Heal families and friends at this special time of year. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests! Pray for the elderly around the world at this time that they would be able to stay warm all winter and have enough to eat through this difficult time of the year.
