Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 19, 2024
Daniel 7:13-14
“I saw in the night visions,
and behold, with the clouds of heaven
there came one like a son of man,
and he came to the Ancient of Days
and was presented before him.
And to him was given dominion
and glory and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
should serve him;
his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom one
that shall not be destroyed.
| I have always read in the Bible how Jesus was called both the Son of God and the Son of Man. The Son of God I clearly understood since He is the Son of God sent down from heaven to defeat death and satan on the cross and wash away the sins of the world. The Son of Man part I was not sure of. Was it because He was part human? We find in the Book of Daniel that Daniel has a vision and in that vision he describes what he calls “The Son of Man!” In Daniel’s writings he tells us that the Son of Man presented Himself to God (Ancient of Days). And that all the people of the world would serve this Son of Man. His dominion and kingdom would never be destroyed and last forever. When we read about the “Son of Man” in the New Testament, we are being told Jesus is this one sent from heaven to rule and reign forever. Jesus truly is both the Son of God and that Son of Man described by Daniel hundreds of years before He came to earth. The Lord was telling Daniel who was coming and just how great this person would be. One of the many signs of the Lord through the prophets telling all those that followed about the coming of God’s salvation for the world. Christmas celebrates the coming of The Son of Man!! Lord, You have done so much to help the world understand that You love us so much that You were sending the help we all need to become right with You. You were announcing through Your prophets way ahead of time that Jesus is part of You and we are to give Him honor and respect as is only due to You. Help all people to come to the truth of Lord Jesus and that belief in Him is the only way to get right with You and become part of Your family. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests!
