Prayer Guide and Devotional
1 Corinthians 9:19-23
For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I
might win the more; and to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law; to the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I might by all means save some. Now this I do for the gospel’s sake, that I may be partaker of it with you.
The Apostle Paul was an amazing man. He was a Jew and so he could speak to them as one with authority. He was a Roman citizen and so he could speak to Romans as one with their authority. He was a Pharisee, so he could speak as one with that teaching and position. There were so many times when Paul could have lorded it over those he was trying to convert to become followers of Christ. But he tells us all he never did that. Paul became who he was speaking to so he could relate to them from a knowledge and background they were comfortable with. As such a strong leader in the Christian community he could have used his power and influence from that position to overwhelm them to bring them to Jesus. He even ate from their table and never complained or refused due to Jewish teachings. He spoke to them from their own background and from their own beliefs and experiences to explain the amazing salvation that could be theirs as well. We all can learn so much from this. When we are sharing Jesus to whomever we meet whether in the FCFI tent, at work, or in the fields, approach them all with love and kindness and try to understand where they are coming from to help you explain what Lord Jesus did for them on the cross, too! Pray that all Christians will place themselves in the shoes of the person they are sharing Jesus with to help those people know of and come to the cross of Lord Jesus! The picture above is FCFI Pennsylvania Northern Tier Chapter witness Karen Steele sharing Jesus salvation message with two children as Mom listens in at the Troy Fair in Troy, Pa. Karen always gets down to the level of the children so she is not towering over them and shares with them using words they will understand. Prayer Requests! Pray for the Lord’s guidance when looking at all the political candidates for office. Ask the Lord’s direction on who to vote for that will uphold Godly principles.
