Isaiah 53:4

Surely He has borne our griefs

And carried our sorrows;

Yet we esteemed Him stricken,

Smitten by God, and afflicted.

So often it appears us humans either forget or never really comprehend what Jesus did on the cross for us. In the Old Testament, thousands of years before the Christ was born onto this earth, the Lord chose various Godly men to tell us what He was going to do and even how we would look upon this. Through Isaiah the Prophet the Lord was telling us all that He was going to send our salvation (Jesus) to this earth and that He was going to bear the griefs, sorrows, and pains OF ALL OF US and that He would appear to many of us as just stricken and afflicted (or struck down) by God. Jesus died on the cross a criminal’s death, not a hero’s death. Jesus has taken all of our sins to that cross so let’s not be ones to look lightly on or “get past” that mighty and wonderful sacrifice Jesus has paid because we could not pay the punishment for our own sins for ourselves. We are clean of the dirt of sin and able to stand in the presence of our God because of Jesus. How great is our God!
Never forget that our ability to spend eternity with the Lord and our family and friends in heaven was not free and that Jesus had to be tortured and die nailed to a cross taking the punishment we deserve for us to go to heaven. Think, dwell, and pray about that mighty love Jesus has for us!
Pray that all those unsaved and saved, that do not understand what Jesus has done for them, have the eyes of their hearts opened to the mighty sacrifice Jesus paid for them on the cross.
