Prayer Guide and Devotional – August 20, 2025
Acts 16:6-7
Now when they had gone through Phrygia and the region of Galatia, they were forbidden by the Holy Spirit to preach the word in Asia. After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.
| The Apostles were planning their route. They had desires to preach Jesus wherever they could. But the Holy Spirit was their guide. The Spirit of the Lord would direct their footsteps. After all, it was the Lord’s ministry and not their own. The Holy Spirit was the Head Coach of the ministry. For reasons only known to the Lord they were forbidden to go into certain regions. If the early preachers of God’s Word would have rebelled and pushed forward into those regions, the Spirit of God would not have been with them. They learned, just let the Lord direct their path and they would have the blessing and protection of the Lord. This situation still holds true today. Make sure everything is taken to the Lord in prayer before pushing on. Even today we want to stay within the Lord’s perfect will. Do not try to go or to attempt anything where the Lord is not supporting you. What was right and true for the early Christians still holds true for the world today!! Lord, please guide my every step. Help me stay within Your perfect will. Let Your Spirit guide my steps, guard my heart, and direct my tongue. Let everything I do and say please You. I know You have plans and I want to do my part to help them come to pass and not hinder them. In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests!
