So when they had appointed elders in every church, and prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord in whom they had believed.
| Paul and Barnabas were going through out the region making converts to Jesus and creating local churches. It was very important to set leadership in each of those churches because once Paul and Barnabas left, without setting people in charge, there would potentially be chaos. You need to have leadership to make decisions and enforce the rules. And they did not just point to someone, make them a leader, and leave. There had to be a time of prayer over these new leaders. It is very important when making any decisions to pray to the Lord to make the right decision and it was necessary to pray for these new leaders so they are Godly people and are true to God’s Word. Then, Paul and Barnabas commended them to the Lord and hand them over to the Lord since they were now His church leaders. Paul and Barnabas were busy moving from area to area and could not stay at one church to supervise it as it grew. They needed people in charge they could trust. Take time everyday to pray for the leadership of your church and churches across the world! Lord, I pray for the leadership teams of every one of Your churches. I pray they always look to You for guidance and they are all Godly people. Help them to teach Your Word to the people, to never compromise Your Word in such a difficult world, and help them to live Your Word. In Jesus name, Amen!! Prayer Requests!
