Prayer Guide and Devotional – April 3, 2025

Psalm 119:140

Your word is very pure;

Therefore Your servant loves it.

When we think of pure or purity, one of the first things that comes to mind is water. We are often concerned that we drink only pure water. There is the fear or concern that we would get dirt or germs into our bodies and potentially make us sick (or even die from it). But do we ever say “I need to get only pure information into my heart and mind so my heart and mind do not suffer from the effects of impurity and make my spirit or soul sick? Psalm 119 is the largest chapter in the Bible. A large portion of it is the Lord reminding us that His ways, thoughts, and actions are righteous, pure, and perfect. When we rely on any other human to supply us with information we run the risk of impure information because us humans have always had the potential to distort information. We are reminded that God’s Word (The Bible!) is absolutely pure and so when we get His Word into our hearts and minds we are keeping any and all impurity out of our spirit and soul and we are guaranteed all that information is perfect and unquestionable. Without impurity we are at our healthiest and in our best condition. Be healthy and happy inside and out. Don’t just insist upon pure water and food, insist upon only pure information getting deep inside of you which can only come from God Himself! Now, pull that Bible off the shelf, inhale deeply, blow the dust off of it! Now, open it up and enjoy filling yourself with the purity that is God’s Word. As the Bible states – You will love it!!!!!!
Lord, to think that Your Word is absolutely pure is so wonderful. In our water and food there are always thoughts and fears about what germs and what chemicals may be in it. But with You everything You have for us is ALWAYS absolutely pure and correct. Help me to everyday fill my needs with Your Pure Word directly from my Bible! In Jesus name, Amen!!
