Prayer Guide and Devotional – August 22, 2023

Acts 18:2-4
And he found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, who had recently come from Italy with his wife Priscilla (because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome); and he came to them. So, because he was of the same trade, he stayed with them and worked; for by occupation they were tentmakers. And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks.

Many people may think because they are in the ministry, because they are serving the Lord, that they will be able to serve the Lord full time. That they will not need to work an outside job to pay their bills. But here we have the Apostle Paul, tent maker by trade, still making and repairing tents. If the Lord God would have had anyone that would have had their expenses paid, it would have been Paul!! But that was not the case. When needed Paul still made and mended tents. We must all take that to heart today. Many think when they get into the ministry that they will have other sources cover their expenses. That they will be able to focus 100% on their service to the Lord. Some are put in this position by the Lord. But there are still many that must continue to work while serving the Lord. Do not be upset if you are one still working. The Lord sees everything you do for Him. The Creator is not blind. You will be blessed for all you do. Continue to serve the Lord with all your mind, heart, spirit and soul!!
Lord, help me to give my all to You. I am so blessed to be one with You and commune with You continually. I know You always do the right thing. I love You so very much!!
