Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise and go toward the south along the road which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is desert. So he arose and went. And behold, a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace the queen of the Ethiopians, who had charge of all her treasury, and had come to Jerusalem to worship,

One of the most amazing things about the Apostles was their obedience to the Lord. They did not sit back and complain or question the Lord when given instruction, they just got up and went. The Lord sent His angel to give running orders to Philip. He gave him the road to travel and even told him it was a deserted area. The Lord is not one to send someone on a mission that was of no value. Not the Lord. His missions are always of great importance. Philip arose and left not knowing the importance of the man he was to carry the Lord’s message to. The Lord tells us this meeting of Philip’s was with a man from another country of great authority under Queen Candace and this man was also the Queen’s treasurer. This marks a time when the Lord was moving the Gospel of Lord Jesus out of the land of Israel and into other countries. And this was not just a shepherd or a store keeper Philip was witnessing to, it was a man of power directly under a Queen. We never know who the Lord will bring in our path. Whether it be a person of high social, political, educational, or business standing or a person with no influence or standing at all. The key is this man of influence Philip spoke with would never have met him if Philip stayed home on the couch. This man may have never received Jesus salvation message if Philip stayed home. Is the Lord tugging at you to get moving somewhere? And you do not know why you have a strong desire to do this? Maybe the Lord is using you just like He did Philip!
Lord, use me in a mighty way today. Help me to share Jesus death and resurrection with people I meet today. Whether I stay in my own town or travel far, let me always obey Your direction and be ready to share Lord Jesus Gospel! In Jesus name, Amen!!
Prayer Requests!!!
Please pray for Charlie, he was born really early due to some problems with mom’s body. He has been diagnosed with CP and he struggles with things his younger brothers can do easily.
Pray for Robert. He has been in the hospital for a month now with what maybe serious infection. Requested by his son, Patrick.
Prayers for Shaina as she has health issues and is dealing with health insurance problems. Keep Shaina and Marc in your prayers.
Keep Robert in your prayers. He is dealing with prostrate cancer. He is a strong Christian and believes Christ is his healer and believes this is just a temporary set back.
Prayers requested for Charles by his sister. Charles is 4 years old and struggles to walk. He still does not talk much. With his condition the doctors told the family he would not live past 4. He is now 4 1/2 years old and still going. Pray he grows to adult hood and defeats this disease by the power of Lord Jesus Christ!
