2 Timothy 3:12
Indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
It would be great if we would be able to tell people, when they receive Jesus Christ into their hearts and lives, that their sins are now washed away and you will live such an amazing easy life. No job problems, no relationship problems, your cars and trucks will never break down, you will have no issues. You are now part of the family of God and He takes care of His own! But, that cannot be said. Quite possibly, more the opposite of that. Since you have become a Christian, you have put a target on yourself in the eyes of satan. He is so mad you chose an eternity in paradise with the Lord. He hates Jesus and anyone related to Him. You know when you are living up to family expectations (family of God, that is!) when you are persecuted. If you have no struggles, that is a sign. You see, if you are not an asset to the Lord, you are not a liability to the devil. When you struggle it is one of two things. Either you are making bad personal decisions (not asking the Lord to help you make the right decisions) or you are truly serving the Lord. Those that make an effort to serve the Lord that saved them from an eternity of hell may very well see some persecution. You are well pleasing to the Lord. He is always there to help you when you need help and you call out to Him (note that call out to Him thing!) You do not have to face any persecution alone. Call out to the Lord and He will help you through it! Remember satan is going to attack you for receiving Jesus into your heart and for being serious about your commitment to serving your God. Struggling a little? That may be a good sign!
Lord, I realize when I was saved by the blood of Lord Jesus that it does not necessarily mean life will get easier. There will always be distractions to disrupt my close relationship with You. Help me to look beyond anything that would impede my closeness to You. Help my heart and mind and body and soul be dedicated to You alone and all that You are. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!

Pray for Riker Stippick. He is a 10 year old boy in the ICU of a New York City hospital. He suffered a brain aneurysm while visiting NYC on his 10th birthday.
