Ephesians 5:2
and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma.
Have you ever walked into a room where someone has been burning incense? It can make the entire room smell so good. Having great aromas is even considered a form of therapy to many people. The Lord also knows how nice a pleasing aroma is. Isn’t that amazing! We know the Lord can hear us and see us but we never think He has the ability to smell fragrances as we do. The Lord instructs us to walk in love every moment of every day of our lives (not just when we are in the mood to be nice!). The Lord reminds us that Jesus loved each one of us so much that He gave His life up for us. He could have refused the torture and death on the cross. But, out of love, He died a criminal’s death to save ours. A life and death viewed by God as an offering from the Son of God!! And the Lord views that offering and sacrifice from Jesus as a fragrant aroma. Sit back. Think of how that wonderful incense smell can fill an entire room. And remember that the Lord sees Jesus sacrifice as wonderful as a tremendously pleasing and fragrant aroma. Now, with Lord Jesus as your God and your guide, are you living your life as a pleasing and fragrant aroma to God as Lord Jesus demonstrated for us all? Make your life a Godly fragrant aroma to the world starting today!!
Lord, help me to be a pleasing aroma to You! I want to fill Your house with the fragrant aroma of a life lived full of love. I pray my aroma to You is fragrant and forms a heart as in the picture above, full of love to You and to those whom you put in my path. I want others to know Your love when I am around them. May others also smell Your fragrance on me and know You are the God that is full of love for them and for all the world. So much love that You died for me and for them. Thank You Lord for dying for all of us! In Jesus name, Amen!!
