Prayer Guide and Devotional – January 21, 2024
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus tells us in no uncertain terms His position in this world. He reminds us all that He is the way and the only way to a peaceful eternal life in heaven. He is the absolute truth and nothing from Him or about Him is a lie. And without Jesus we do not have eternal life in heaven with God, our Father! If people think there are other avenues to get to heaven, that there are truths out there which refute Lord Jesus, or that there is an eternal peaceful life that can be obtained without Jesus, they are mistaken. So often we draw information from other sources that are totally unreliable. These resources will draw you away from everything Jesus has for us and can do for us. When we do not reach out to the Lord for direction for our lives, we are led astray. The devil is out there trying to get everyone to believe lies which will destroy peoples lives forever. That is why we are to maintain a very tight relationship with God allowing nothing to come between us. When man speaks, he is often speaking so as to benefit him or give an opinion without any backing to show if it is the absolute truth. God owns all and is in charge of all. He has no reason to lie to gain an advantage. The Lord created the heavens and the earth and He rules over all. Only He can tell us the absolute truth. Look to Him daily for your guidance and help. Keep all the false information away from you!! Nobody, and that is absolutely nobody, can get to God by refusing Lord Jesus and all He has done for us and refusing who He is.
Lord, thank You that when I received You my name was written in the Lamb’s Book of Life! There is no greater gift than knowing one day I will spend eternity with You. I ask you to help me to keep my eyes on you that I would not be lead astray. I want to receive my direction from You and no other source. Help nothing to come between us! Let me know when I am looking or going in the wrong direction. Guide my heart, my eyes, my ears and my entire life to You alone. You are the only way, the only truth, and the only life, My Lord Jesus, Amen!!
