Prayer Guide and Devotional – January 1, 2024
Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
On this very first day of 2024, let’s look at the very first verse in the Bible (God’s Word!). Everything that exists, seen and unseen, has been created and placed where it is by God. In the very beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. Often an artist has a vision in their heart and head of what they want to create before the first brush stroke is placed on the canvas. With God this must have been the same regarding the earth. He created a beautiful earth that eventually would contain beautiful mountains and flowing rivers. With many trees and flowers and plants and animals to inhabit and dress up this globe. I remember sitting on the porch swing of my terrific in-law’s farm in Perry County Pennsylvania. I could relax there on that swing and look out over corn fields with stalks eight feet high! And the amazing view of the wheat fields growing and the wind streaking the tops of this wonderful carpet from light green to dark green as they swayed in that breeze. The Lord made the earth according to His taste. And in His taste, right from the beginning, He placed the farmer right in the middle. The farmer was given the responsibility to grow the crops to feed the world and to raise many types of animals. The farm with it’s home is used to raise farm families. The many barns, out buildings, and silos are in place exactly where they are needed to store the grain and all the tractors and tools needed that are all part of the farmers life as directed by God. And God gave this direction to the farmer, from the very beginning. The Lord was painting His beautiful picture from the very beginning of this awesome world!!
Lord, this world is so huge. I cannot comprehend the thoughts and work You put into such a big and wonderful place. Thank You so much for making the earth such a beautiful place to live. Help me to always take care of what You created and I ask You to use me to bring Your love and peace and joy to this big world. And thank You so much for the farmers around this world that assume the mighty responsibility You bestowed on them all when You placed each one of them on their farm You chose for them from that very beginning. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!

Please pray for farmers everywhere to be blessed by the Lord for all they do. May they each understand that they are where the Lord created them to be.
Please pray for Charles, he is experiencing low blood pressure and low kidney output.
