Proverbs 22:9
One who is generous will be blessed,
Because he gives some of his food to the poor.
As the Christmas Season continues, people are so aware of the Christmas presents they want to buy for others. But there are some people that have bigger concerns than Christmas presents for others. Their financial struggles run much deeper. They are concerned just about having food to put on the table each day. With the cost of everything going sky high (food, gas, home heating oil, and utilities), they are now burdened with having to buy something for others when they don’t have enough to eat. Is there someone you work with that may need help with Christmas dinner this year? What about a neighbor? There are agencies that will collect food items and give them to the needy. But, you have worked so hard and put in lots of hours for that paycheck. Why should you just give it away? The Lord is watching how we handle what He has given us. He has given us what is in our bank accounts and He will continue to supply our needs as long as we help others. But He wants to see how we are helping others in need. As God tells us “One who is generous will be blessed.” You help feed others and watch how generous the Lord can be! This Christmas Season be generous and bless others with the aid of some great food items for their dinners!
Lord, no matter how many people there are in the world, You are always right there with each and every one of us taking care of us. And if we do without, it is only our fault. You constantly teach and tell us to have faith in You. And in doing so we will know that as we give away to others, You will bless us right back! Lord, bring someone in need into my path this season and help me to bless them as an adopted child of a loving God would. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
