Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 17, 2023
Luke 1:38
“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.
To have a messenger from the Most High God visit you is absolutely amazing in itself. But the message was a message of love for the world. This young lady was chosen by the Lord to give birth to Lord Jesus. It is through her that the salvation of the world was to come. Many people today have a hard time when confronted with serving God. There can be much fear, confusion, and apprehension. Sometimes people today will back away from what the Lord has for them to do. Yet, this young lady, still not married, never having known a man physically, was to carry and give birth to God’s Son. Mary spoke forward she was the Lord’s servant. She was totally willing for the Lord’s Word to be fulfilled through her. She had no idea of the pain and sorrow she had yet ahead of her. She did not understand the immense undertaking that her and Joseph were going to be part of. If only everyone would have the courage of Mary!
Lord, thank You for giving Mary the courage to go through all she had to for salvation to come to the entire world. Help all people to realize when You reach out to help people, so often You use the people here on earth as Your hands and feet. When You see a need, You send Christians to go take care of the need. Let us never say no or back away from the responsibilities You place on us. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
