Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 12, 2023
Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
The husband of my parent’s neighbor was sick in the hospital and dying from cancer. His wife told my parents when he passed. She told them in his last moments he was crying like a child scared of where he was going and what he would face. The man was not a Christian. He rejected Jesus all his life. He did not know where he was going but he did know it was not good because he did not feel the assurance that Christians have when their day comes that their time on this earth is done. Followers of Lord Jesus know they will spend eternity in heaven in Paradise with the Lord. That is the Lord’s promise to us as His adopted children. And we find that is the Holy Spirit that is in you placed there by the Lord when you received Jesus into your heart and life. The power of the Holy Spirit was what raised Jesus from the dead. Yes, that amazing Spirit now resides in us! Many never realize how great of a gift they have. The God of all creation has placed His Spirit into us! That Spirit of the Lord will raise our mortal bodies up on that final day just as the Spirit raised Jesus from the dead. We will spend eternity in heaven with our Father! Do not wonder and do not fear what will happen to you when you are done on this earth. The Lord has already addressed that. You are a child of the most high God! Praise Jesus!!
Lord, thank you for the blessing of You placing Your precious Holy Spirit within me. Because the Spirit resides in me, my body is a temple for Your Spirit. Help me to always keep my body clean and pure as is fit for Your Spirit. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
