Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 11, 2023
Romans 6:14
For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace.
The law God gave through Moses was good. It acted as Paul calls it, as a tutor, to teach everyone how God expects His people to act. The laws are a set of guidelines for the people to follow to teach them the Lord’s way and to let them know these are the Lord’s rules. These were great. But as great as they are, they were still not capable of bringing righteousness to the people in order to satisfy the Lord. While under the law, sin is our master. That is what the Lord tells us. Satan was doing everything he could to make each person stumble and fall and break all those laws. Even if it was the least of the laws. What did the Prayer Guide tell us yesterday, break one law, you have broken them all!! This shows our inability to follow the law to get to heaven. But the Lord reminds us all, we are no longer under the law because Jesus paid for the sins of the entire world when He died on that old rugged cross. We are no longer under the law, but we are firmly under the grace of God, when we receive Jesus into our hearts and lives. Satan has lost!! But he will still try to make those sanctified by the Lord stumble, even the least bit. But you are free from Satan. You are free from the law. You have been saved by the grace of God and the blood of Jesus. Now, look up, and say “Thank You Jesus, for your precious gift. Your life for ours!!”
Lord, thank You Jesus for dying for my sins. I was stuck having to spend eternity away from God for an eternity in hell. But Jesus paid my penalty. You took my punishment for me. Thank You Jesus! I cannot say that enough. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
