Prayer Guide and Devotional – December 6, 2023
1 Thessalonians 3:13
so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints.
Going before the Lord is not a minor thing. Going before the Lord is not a thing for the weak of heart. We all are born sinful in nature which leads to sinful acts which are offensive to God. The Apostle Paul prays the Lord to strengthen our hearts so we can stand up straight and tall before God. We need strength from the Holy Spirit to stand blameless and holy before the Lord. We cannot do this on our own. That strength must come from the Lord. We are told we will stand before the Lord at the second coming of Lord Jesus. Are you strong enough to stand before the Lord? Are you blameless in the eyes of God? Have you accepted Jesus into your heart and life? Jesus is the source of our strength that enables us to stand before the Lord. Jesus was born to take our sins to the cross. Only the Son of God could endure all that suffering. And it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be blameless before the Lord. We get our strength to not only get through our lives but to stand before God from the Lord. Spend time with Jesus so that He may strengthen our hearts. Read God’s Word and talk to the Lord in prayer today. Go ahead and strengthen your heart today (and tomorrow, and the next day, etc,…). After all, He is the reason for this special Christmas season!!
Lord, help me to be strong in You and not let my heart grow weak. Help me to take the time to spend with You so that my heart will be strong. When my heart is strong I can come before You in prayer knowing that I am blameless because of Jesus. Thank You Lord! In Jesus name, Amen!!
